Tell a little about your show experience: None yet, but I would like to someday. I am interested more in doing games.

How did you first become interested in horses: I always wanted to live on a farm since I was a kid, but my parents didn't know anything about farm animals or farming. We had a friend (Linda) that we played cards with and rode her horses when I was 10 or 11 years old. We moved to Ankeny and lost contact with her for a while but as I became older I got back in-touch with Linda. Soon after meeting up with her and hangout again she helped me get my first horse (Cowboy). I boarded him at her house and took lessons with "the group" at J & B Connection with Jodi. One year and one month later that horse got sick with COPD (Chronic Obstruction Pulmonary Disease) and had to be put down. I thought I would never own a horse again, for a while I didn't even want to ride much. After a few months I got back in to the grove again riding Linda's horses and a few years later Linda's brother gave me a horse (Ben). My husband has always been into draft horses and more into the wagon pulling then riding. I'm sure you can guess what happened then; "ROAD TRIP" to Minnesota and got a Percheron named Cole, our first draft horse. A year went by and we kept finding out more information about Ben from the vet, how he couldn't be ridden on trails or hilly land and some of his injuries wouldn't hold up to much riding. So I start looking for another horse that could do these things. Within a about 6 months of looking and talking to friends and family I get a call from Linda. She told me about her brother's girlfriend that had some horses she was taking to the sale barn in story county, if I wanted to go look at them before she took them I could. As the story follows along "ROAD TRIP" to Hummestin, IA to look at the horses she had. We bought a 10 month old filly (Mae) at that time. A year or so went and my mom called me about a family getting rid of their horses. Once again "ROAD TRIP" and we came home with a Clydesdale (Bo). So here is a little history of how we got our horses. Someday ROAD TRIPS will have to stop because as you can see every road trip we come home with another horse.

Anything else you’d like put under your bio: Falling off and road trips are my thing!!!!
